Malaysia offers a 30% cash rebate on qualifying post-production expenditure, including CGI, VFX, animation, and digital post-production services completed in Malaysia.

Eligible projects include feature films, television series, commercials, animation projects, and other screen content requiring post-production services.

To qualify, productions must incur a minimum local spend of approximately US$250K equivalent in Malaysia for post-production work. The rebate is calculated based on qualifying Malaysian production expenditure for services carried out locally.

Applications must be submitted prior to the commencement of post-production in Malaysia. Rebate payments are typically processed following completion of the project and submission of final expenditure documentation.
